Job Classification: Full-Time RegularEndevis talent acquisition group has been hired by a Top 50 - Tier 1 automotive supplier with $4B in annual revenue near Rochester Hills to find an External Reporting Analyst. Our client has positioned themselves for continued growth, with the ability to develop more focused and distinct business models, and with flexibility to pursue different strategic plans to capitalize on industry trends. The External Reporting analyst is an important role to the accounting function of the new organization. In addition to the main responsibilities of assisting with providing accurate reporting and technical guidance for the organization, the candidate in this role will be part of a team that will be able to shape the standards and processes. The External Reporting Analyst will prepare SEC filings (Form 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) and assist in the preparation of registration statements and responses to SEC comment letters and related communications. He/she will also manage the implementation and research of ongoing SEC reporting and disclosure requirements. Assist in the preparation of annual and quarterly SEC filings, including XBRL exhibits. Interpret emerging accounting and disclosure requirements to ensure compliance. Prepare financial communications for Audit Committee Meetings and other Chief Accounting Officer presentations. Review all financial information included in press releases, investor presentations, and other investor relations documents. Support external audit and review procedures. Assist in SOX compliance documentation and testing as required. Plan, develop, and execute special projects as appropriate. To be considered for the External Reporting Analyst role, professionals should have; A minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience ideally including both public accounting and corporate experience Bachelor degree in accounting or finance CPA license or equivalent Technical Competency: The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting. He/she will have demonstrated ability to prepare SEC documents including Forms 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K. Leadership/Teamwork Skills: He/she should be known as an excellent leader and have a proven ability to work in cross-functional teams. He/she should have the capability and desire to take on broader roles in the finance organization. Additionally, this individual should understand and manage cultural differences inherent in a highly diverse international business, naturally building relationships across the enterprise through collaboration, consensus building and interpersonal effectiveness. Communication Skills: This individual should have presentation skills to assist in leading relevant meetings. The individual should have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization including senior leadership. Also, this individual should have strong writing capabilities, including the ability to clearly and accurately draft footnote and other public disclosures.
