Global Accounting Analyst As a member of the Global Corporate Accounting team, the Global Accounting Analyst is responsible for ensuring high quality and timely worldwide general ledger accounting and acts as a resource to the organization for accounting guidance and support. The Global Accounting Analyst is a full-time position located in Southfield, Michigan. Key Responsibilities: Ensure that general ledger transactions and positions are accounted for properly in accordance with Firm policies and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and supported by appropriate audit documentation. Ensure consistency of financial statement methodologies and classification across entities. Participate in month-end close process. Includes journal entry preparation, data entry, reconciling accounts and reporting. Perform monthly accounting and review for various areas such as prepaid assets / deposits and various liabilities. Perform monthly fixed asset review ensuring complete and accurate capitalization and depreciation. Enhance and streamline assigned work processes in a proactive manner. Acts as a point of contact for the external auditors and provides audit coordination and support. Perform ad-hoc projects and support Firm initiatives as assigned. Qualifications / Requirements: Bachelor's degree with emphasis in accounting required. 1 - 4 years' experience preferred Demonstrated ability to use accounting, technical and analytical skills effectively. Strong attention to detail and quality orientation. Self-motivated. Initiates activities with high degree of drive, passion, and commitment to continuous improvement. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities effectively in order to meet strict deadlines Anticipates individuals' needs and works proactively to ensure a great customer experience. Strong interpersonal with the ability to work independently and under time constraints. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) system a plus. Connects with colleagues within and across functional areas. Ability to work full time in a fast-paced office environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the work day.
