Publications Team Lead:Sterling Heights, MI (Job Number:430390)
SAIC has a contingent job opportunity for a Publications Team Lead to support an ARMY customer in Sterling Heights, MI.
The Publications Team Lead edits, proofreads and provides writing support, the conceptualization, layout and preparation of high quality graphics, text, and templates, and the design, preparation, and creation of new media projects on non:technical and/or technical documents or sections of documents prepared by writers such as manuals, procedures and specifications. Responsibilities include checking drafts for format, clarity and overall cohesiveness. Ensuring documents meet editorial and government specifications and adhering to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format and style. Responsibilities include: producing and/or revising technical articles, proposals, publications, books, manuals, reports, and marketing materials and determining project requirements and presenting drafts of finished product to the user ensuring high quality of output. . Reviews rough drafts and makes suggestions. In addition, individuals in this family design and develop multimedia applications, systems and products involving computer graphics and interactive computing using a variety of new media software applications, techniques and tools. Complete understanding and wide application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Full knowledge of industry practices. Performs assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet outlined objectives. Work is reviewed by management to measure meeting objectives. Administers company policies that directly affect employees. Recommends changes to team policies.
Develops solutions to a variety of problems moderate in scope and complexity. May refer to policies, procedures and practices.
Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requirirng coordination between organizations.
BASIC EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree from accredited institution or four years of related experience in lieu of degree. In addition to educational requirement, a minimum of six (6) years of related experience; Masters and four (4) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.
Candidate must have experience leading a technical publications team for an Army program. Candidate shall meet the following:
: Proficient in MS Office, and the use of Arbortext software, and EMS Next Generation.
-Familiarity with Army equipment and Life Cycle Logistics planning Familiarization with S1000D and innovative training processes.
- Ability to perform and training needs analysis Experience in HTML / SGML / XML editing software and Arbortext Editor. Experience with tracking status for multiple projects. Previous military experience or working in DoD industry. Ability to interpret drawings, write using clear and concise language that adheres to customer:established standards and conventions
