Job Description
Growing Energy Efficiency Consulting and implementation contractor serving major utility markets throughout the Midwest, seeking a qualified Energy Project Engineer responsible for coordination of all technical activities on assigned projects. Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates assigned engineering work; monitors work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices; ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all other project participants. Responsible and accountable to ensure that all assigned personnel are coordinating their activities with other project participants, and that the requirements of the Contract are being satisfied. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of the technical accuracy of program design specifications, in order to recognize when technical problems are developing in the various disciplines and to initiate appropriate corrective actions.
While on a project, the Project Engineer reports to the Senior Program Manager, who has ultimate responsibility for both the quality of deliverables and effective execution of project assignments.
:Project engineering schedules and forecasts.
:Coordination and checking of engineering deliverables.
:Monthly project status reports and change orders.
:Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and management aspects of projects.
:Accountable for the successful completion of engineering projects.
:Requires extensive regular contact with assigned project Clients.
:Assist in the preparation of engineering project proposals.
:Budget monitoring and trend tracking.
:Participating in Client/contractor meetings and resolving Client/engineering and management project issues.
:Works with sales champions to ensure appropriate client communication is carried out, including addressing RFP, providing technical support to bid proposals and intents to bid, addressing follow up questions, determining prequalification criteria, etc.
:Develop standard proposal:ready (boilerplate) content for use in future proposal efforts.
:Responsible for thoroughly understanding the full array of company products and services in order to fully and effectively represent the company to our clients or potential clients during the bid and proposal process.
:Content formatting and visual quality control of all graphic components of complex proposal documents within Microsoft Word. Includes creation of any client requested supporting documentation and/or forms.
:Requires excellent verbal and written communication skill
:Strong detail orientation, analytical and general business skills
:Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and flexibility to change priorities
:Proficiency with Advanced Microsoft Office applications (Including Visio and Project)
:Requirements Analysis, Design Skills and Project Management Skills.
:Familiarity with Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Process Improvement, Technical Understanding, Documentation Skills
:Optional but a great skill set : Experience in Safety Management, Supervision, CAD, CAD/CAM Circuit Design
Education/Experience. Bachelors degree in Engineering and 2+ years directly related work experience or compatible combination of education and experience.
:Knowledge of Energy Efficiency assessment, measures, and technical applications.
:Willingness and ability to Travel as necessary.
:Experience in a commercial proposal writing / development capacity in a fast:paced, dynamic corporate environment.
:Experience or understanding of energy efficiency program issues and the regulatory environment for utility clients and capacity to understand and evaluate specific energy efficiency program messaging is highly desirable.
