Job Description:/h3:
This position leads the development, integration and maintenance of the functional safety operation of automotive roof system modules. The functional safety engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing safety related systems and processes according customer requirements and ISO26262. This position participates in multiple development projects and has direct interaction with Inalfas customers and suppliers. During these projects, the team will manage the safety lifecycle, performing HARA, safety concept, validation, audits and provide and receive training.
Planning, Leading and Reporting
* Develop and institute a functional safety development process and ensure that it is integrated into normal processes
* Maintain an open issues list that is key for the successful tracking of issues from meetings as well as own activities.
* Planning and implementation of safety relevant system development activities following ISO 26262 safety lifecycle and preparation of customized system safety plan.
* Confirm and verify that safety plan and safety case as developed by Functional Safety engineers will ensure functional safety relevant deliverables are met in compliance with customer and internal company product and project gateways.
* Planning and coordination of all necessary functional safety activities encompassing the life cycle of the product (functional safety leadership)
* Coordination of the distribution of responsibility between customer and INALFA, including involved internal departments (internal and external communication)
* Execute and monitor project responsibilities regarding functional safety (safety plan)
* Guide, coach and support implementation of functional safety requirements on all levels (system and sub:system) of the project (implementation support)
* Development of the technical safety concept including system safety requirements in close cooperation with the ECU HW and SW teams.
* Planning and organization of activities to maintain functional safety in production (e.g. EOL test, calibration process) and operation phases (e.g. field monitoring, modification process)
* Create templates and guidelines as needed
* Create and publish the reports regarding the functional safety status of the projects.
* Assist the Functional safety manager with coordination and definition of the development interface agreement (DIA) RASIC.
* Support sales teams with determination of ASIL level based on quote package requirements
* Create functional safety documentation by creating and maintaining a safety case
* Participate or lead the development of the hazard analysis and risk assessment (HARA), DFMEA and FTA
* Conduct safety reviews and report the status when requested
* Create or maintain all necessary work products (e.g. HARA, safety requirements) (functional safety work products)
* Compilation of customer requirements in coordination with Functional Safety.
* Compilation of ASIL dependent safety case.
* Supporting the SW within system release recommendation / approval process (usage restriction)
* Ensure Inalfas products meet functional safety requirements as agreed with our customers and in relation to legal obligations as well as internal standards.
* In accordance to ISO 26262, the functional safety engineer will ensure:
o Provides an automotive safety lifecycle (management, development, production, operation, service, decommissioning) and supports tailoring the necessary activities during these lifecycle phases.
o Provides an automotive:specific risk:based approach to determine integrity levels (Automotive Safety Integrity Levels (ASIL));
o Uses ASILs to specify applicable requirements of ISO 26262 so as to avoid unreasonable residual risk;
o Provides requirements for validation and confirmation measures to ensure a sufficient and acceptable level of safety being achieved;
