FUNCTIONAL SAFETY ENGINEER
JOB SUMMARY
Samsung SDIA is looking for a Functional Safety Engineer that would be responsible for conducting standard safety analyses and provide feedback and guidance to the engineering design teams for systems, hardware and software with regards to safety findings and recommended design changes to improve product safety. This position will interface with all engineering departments, manufacturing, and the Customer in developing and implementing a functional safety plan. This position will provide leadership with regards to ISO26262 and ASIL standards to ensure compliance across the product designs.
ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:
Creation of hazard and risk analysis (HARA), safety goals and decompose safety requirements from them.
:
Ensure the implementation, indication and traceability of safety requirements as part of the system requirements.
:
Development of the System Safety Concept (both technical and functional) from the system analysis and safety architecture.
:
Drive reviews of the functional safety concept implementation into the system function architecture.
:
Provide recommendation and definition of restrictions for system(s) releases.
:
Perform Safety in use Analysis and derive safety in use requirements and the implementation in the system requirements.
:
Initiation, refinement, reviewing, updating and completing of the System FMEAs and System Fault Tree Analysis.
:
Support system function and subsystem function architectures.
:
Approval of safety requirements indication and the traceability as part of the System Requirements management process.
:
Specify software required to ensure product development traceability from product requirements to product validation.
:
Works with internal and external resources to ensure all project needs/expectations are met.
:
Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIRED / DESIRED SKILLS:
:
BS in
Mechanical/Electrical/Controls Engineering required, MSEE desired.
:
REQUIRED: 3+ years in Embedded Safety Systems development.
:
Expertise with E/E architectures, automotive electronics, and embedded control systems.
:
Experience in developing and implementing safety critical systems, software fault tolerance design including familiarity with ASIL safety standards.
:
Experience in Functional Safety, ISO26262, IEC61508.
:
Excellent communication skills. (written and verbal)
:
Strong analytic skills with the ability to exercise independent judgment to perform essential duties.
:
Strong attention to details, highly organized, computer literate. (VISIO to create wiring schematics)
:
Self:motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks while providing excellent teamwork.
