I. Position Summary:
The CEO is responsible for providing strategic leadership to the company by working with the board, management and employees, to establish and execute long:range strategies, plans, goals and policies.
The CEO also manages the overall strategic aspects of the company including financial oversight and growth, marketing, communications, preservation, facility development, Human Resource direction, logistics and relationships with employees, communities, partners and governmental entities.
The CEO reports to and collaborates with the Board of Directors, with the Chair as the Primary Contact.

II. Position Responsibilities:
A. Strategic Direction:
* Lead the organization in effectively implementing the Strategic Plan, business strategies and goals, as initially outlined by the Board of Directors.
* Oversee all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the Vision, Mission, Values of our clients overall strategy.
* Evaluate and advise the Board on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs / strategies and regulatory action, engaging them as appropriate.
B. Market Knowledge and Positioning:
* Maintain a deep knowledge of the markets and industry as well as keeping current with emerging trends, best practices and modern business practices.
* Enhance the reputation and public awareness of the company.
* Explore technologies that drive new levels of learning experiences, visibility, and revenues.
C. Relationship Management:
* Establish and maintain meaningful relationships with visitors.
* Build trusted relationships with current and potential key partners and stakeholders, acting as the primary point of contact.
* Ensure open win:win relationships with all key stakeholders, shareholders and the Board of Directors.
* Maintain positive, cordial working relationships with governmental agencies, regional civic organizations and the scientific community.
D. Culture / People:
* Build a positive and productive culture in the workplace by listening to employee opinions, making adjustments, recognizing team accomplishments and developing people.
* Lead and motivate subordinates through demonstrated behaviors.
* Ensure all departments and individuals work together to reach organizational goals.
* Work closely with HR to ensure hiring practices, compensation philosophy and development of people attract and retain competent, spirited, engaged and fulfilled talent.
E. Financial Stewardship:
* Plan, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organizations fiscal performance.
* Provide credible timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the Board and management in performing their responsibilities.
* Prepare annual budgets, complete risk analysis and advise the Board with regard to investment risk and return.
* Review financial results and reports to devise solutions for improvement.
* Make high quality investing decisions to advance the business and increase profits.
