The Director will work closely with the Legal leadership team, the Director of Internal Audit, and the Chief Human Resources Officer and global HR team to design, deliver, and effectively implement a world class and end-to-end enterprise Compliance and Integrity Program.   • Lead and build the SRI enterprise compliance program and team.
  • Establish policies and standards of behavior with clear explanations and effective training in local languages;
  • Build a consistent enterprise culture of integrity, by ensuring training of managers to integrate compliance, ethical conduct into day-to-day business and interactions with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement straightforward processes to facilitate, audit and track compliance with the law and our policies; effective training for employees and others; and implementation of the SRI enterprise compliance program.
  • Provide compliance oversight in key functional areas and key business processes to help the business effectively manage and mitigate risk
  • Oversee responses to regulatory inquiries and customer compliance requirements.
  • Partner with Internal Audit and other SRI activities to establish the strategic direction for compliance initiatives as appropriate.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the compliance program; conduct periodic risk assessments and adapt the compliance program based on the assessment results.
  • Conduct investigations and track investigation results and management responses.
  • Provide key input and guidance to the SRI Senior Leadership Team and the SRI Board and Compliance Committee as needed to enhance and support Compliance and risk strategies and activities
  • A Bachelor’s degree and either an advanced degree or additional professional experience
  • Demonstrated capability and discernment to advise the Board and all levels of management on compliance matters
  • Strong teaching, training, and communication skills
  • Effectiveness in multicultural and multinational environments
  • Demonstrated ability in both program management and change management
  • Partner to the C-suite and rest of the senior leadership team in building and sustaining the desired culture
  • Sound business and compliance judgment, and the ability effectively to communicate the basis for the judgments he or she makes
  • Minimum 10 years of experience, with substantial compliance-related experience and risk assessment within a US based global enterprise
  • Experience working in a manufacturing company, preferably in an automotive or transportation businesses
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (initially could be as high as 50%, once the program is in place could be ~25%)
