Position Summary: Engineering Manager
Location: Troy, Michigan
The Engineering Manager ensures safe and optimal operation and maintenance of equipment. Manages the facility and the activities of personnel engaged in engineering and building maintenance. Assigns appropriate level of responsibilities for both the repair and the maintenance of facility support and production equipment. Makes decisions on the basis of maximizing the fill department output while ensuring individuals are given adequate training opportunities (formal and OJT) to maintain the long:term viability for the department. Manages all projects, CAPEX and process modifications, to ensure safe, cost effective and timely implementation.
Essential Job Functions: (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following:
:Maintains equipment to ensure safety, health and environment goals are achieved.
:Maintain equipment to help ensure quality targets are achieved.
:Maintain equipment to help ensure productivity targets are achieved.
:Direct Supervisor of engineers and maintenance supervisor, especially as their work impacts the ability of the building to support continued operations.
:Review progress and budget status of ongoing projects. Confer with individual maintenance personnel to evaluate total performance against requirements for sustained operations.
:Review requests for maintenance assistance and assess the requirements for sustained operations. Make any requirement comments to higher level authority as appropriate.
:Verify that individual decisions / design considerations are in accordance with established safety codes / requirements.
:Work with higher level authority in designing the direction of the department. Aligning the goals and procedures is a critical task as the manager must be able to operate independently on an ad hoc basis.
:Participates and / or lead selection of equipment and procedures to improve end goals.
:Continually improve procedures and equipment for safety, quality, and productivity.

:Bachelor Degree in an Engineering discipline, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred.
:2:5 years Supervisory experience in Maintenance and/or Engineering.
:Safety competencies shall include OSHA 30, NEC 70E, powered industrial vehicles, small cranes).
:Excellent communication skills including read, review and write in English.
:Excellent computer skills, ability to use SAP, MS Excel (advanced to expert level), MS Word, and Power Point.
:Motivational skills are required to focus individual job requirements of each individual for overall accomplishments.
:Must be able to read and interpret manuals, design drawings and electrical prints.
:Negotiate with vendors and contractors, and interface effectively with all customers.
