Job Description:/h3:
This position will act as direct report for the quality team while organizing and handling daily quality issues and audit activities including the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:3 years of supervisory experience preferred
:Strong
communication/facilitation skills interfacing with both internal and external customers.
:Working knowledge and utilization of AIAG core tools APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, MSA, and TS:16949. Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD and T)
:Management of quality team to ensure production requirements are satisfied.
:Suggests and debates alternative methods and procedures in solving problems.
:Implements needed modifications of the product assurance program as determined by management.
:Implements and maintains customer specific requirements throughout the organization.
:Evaluates measurement methods and equipment for continuous improvement in MSA and efficiency of conducting production part approvals and layouts.
:Supports lean/5S activities throughout the production plant.
:Contributes to customer and TS:16949 audits as required.
:Contributes to the Layered Process Audit process.
:Evaluates contents of material certifications and ensures material meets the required specifications.
:Dispositions non:conforming parts and materials based on previously determined outcomes.
:Works with management to ensure customer concerns are addressed and action plans implemented. Contributes to the 8D root cause problem solving process.
:Coordinates and tracks all supplier quality issues until permanent corrective action is in place and verified.
:Manages sort projects both internal and 3rd party of suspect product.
:Visits and confers with representatives of material and component vendors to obtain information related to supply quality, capacity of vendor to meet orders, and vendor quality standards.
:Reviews technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.
:Confers with engineers about quality assurance of new products designed and manufactured products on market to rectify problems.
:Audits and updates all FMEAs and control plans in conjunction with engineering.
:Performs part layouts for PPAP approval of new production, purchased components and changed processes.
:Performs quality auditor duties on an as:needed basis.
:Reviews technical publications, articles, and abstracts to stay abreast of technical developments in industry.
:Strong background and knowledge of SPC.
:Background and understanding of lean manufacturing.
:Working knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
:Mechanical and metallurgical aptitude to understand stamping, welding, and machining.
:Understands and enforces all safety rules and environmental procedures in plant.
:Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises quality auditors and inspectors.
QUALIFICATIONS

:EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 2 year college or university program, or two to four years experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience using inspection equipment including but not limited to height gage w/indicator, micrometers, calipers, protractor, and attribute gages. Ability to interpret part print GD and T preferred.
:LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from
