Job Description:/h3:
Position Overview
The Service Manager is responsible for directing and managing DEI Service and Spare Parts personnel. The incumbent must be technically sound and have the ability lead and manage a team. The Service Manager has the authority to direct all activities related to the service and repair activities of Durr equipment and machines at various customer sites and is accountable for assuring conformance to all related requirements, policies, and procedures.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities
:Develops and maintains an effective organization with respect to personnel
:Ensures that all personnel understand the responsibility, authority, and accountability of their position
:Ensures that all personnel are properly trained in the skills and knowledge required for their job function including safety and environmental requirements
:Responsible for the security and accuracy of the inventory warehoused at the facility including any customer consigned inventory
:Work with Service and Sales to coordinate projects and review order necessities
:Plans, directs, supervises, and evaluates the work activities of all service personnel
:Works with the outside sales group to actively pursue repair contracts and daily business
:Responsible for the profitability of the service activities for the DEI service group
:Responsible for expanding and maintaining customer base and relations
:Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
:Is goal oriented and can motivate others to accomplish given assignments
:Knowledge of mechanical methods and/or processing mechanical aptitude
:Possess the ability to work well both individually and within a team setting
:Must be able to set priorities and balance work flow to manage multiple projects
:Is self motivated and works with minimum supervision
:Possess good written and verbal communication skills
:Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP

Special Position Requirements
:May require after:hours and weekend work will be necessary as required by the customer
:Requires excellent problem solving skills, with the ability to find ways to work under pressure and still make deadlines without cutting corners or endangering the safety of himself/herself or others, or the integrity of the equipment and the employer as a whole
:Requires ability to interact professionally with other departments, customers and suppliers

Minimum Qualifications
:Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline preferred
:5+ years in equipment maintenance experience required
:3+ years in a management role that developed the individuals abilities in the areas described in the jobs duties and responsibilities

Physical Demands
:Must have adequate finger dexterity for drafting and computer use.
:The position involves reading, writing, mathematics and measuring.
:Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, and have the ability to climb, stand, stoop or kneel for extended periods of time.

Work Environment
:Work primarily is done in an office area using a computer, and sometimes equipment placed in his or her work area related to projects he or she is currently working on
:May be expected to work on a manufacturing shop floor, which could involve exposure to hazards. Work surfaces may be slippery, uneven or unstableCompany Description:/h3:
