Job Description
Seeking Resident Assistants for Independent Living Communities in Rochester Hills Area
For residents in Independent Living Communities under Wellness services. Care assistance to include; assistance with ADLs and other tasks specific to the Wellness services offered. To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Qualifications:
:High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and /or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
:Experience in Wellness Services preferred
Job Duties:
A. Provide limited assistance to residents including:
1. Bathing; stand by shower assistance or actual bathing of resident
2. Personal hygiene
3. Dressing and grooming
4. Put on or remove support hose
5. Ambulation
6. Medication reminders
7. Escort to/from meals and activities with observation to ensure safety
8. Assisting with continental breakfasts at times, in some communities
9. Daily room checks or every three (3) hour room checks
10. Observation of blood sugar checks
11. Incontinence care
12. Assistance with hearing aides
13. Urinary bag emptying and changing
14. Blood pressure checks
15. Braces and/or orthotics on/off
16. Exchange oxygen tanks
17. Daily weights
B. Must agree to adhere to HIPAA Regulations, confidentiality of company information and patient privacy requirements
C. Completion of daily/weekly tasks as assigned by the Wellness Manager as well as assisting others routinely with their assignments if needed
D. Provides unplanned services when requested
E. Wear and maintain the appropriate uniform as determined by management
F. Completion of appropriate records, including flow sheets indicating medication reminders and other services performed, resident communication notes, occurrence and trigger reports, unplanned service reports and shift notes.
G. Working scheduled shifts and also flexible and open to helping cover other shifts if needed
H. Knowledge of all emergency procedures and ability to perform emergency procedures when indicated while following company policies and procedures
I. In some communities, responding to emergency pendant alarms and resetting of alarms may be required
J. Communication with the Wellness Manager involving any concerns regarding resident services or changes in behavior
K. Contact with the Wellness Manager, residents family and/or 911 when there is an emergency situation regarding residents condition
L. Attendance at all Wellness Department meetings, in:service programs and knowledge of all departmental communication
M. Other duties as assigned
