IHS Markit is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Principal Analyst within its Automotive Supplier Solutions team. The role will underpin current and new IHS Markit services to support clients on a global basis.
Role and Responsibilities
The role encompasses qualitative and quantitative research, trend forecasting as well as strategy analysis around OEM and supplier lightweighting solutions and materials choices
Developing new forecasts on a material shifts around several component areas (e.g. chassis, powertrain, interior). Forecasts based on original research conducted by the Principal Analyst supported by IHS proprietary data/tools.
:Analyze complex data and guiding clients to innovating and insightful answers
Supporting business development activities in the Lightweighting and materials component area as well as the wider offerings of the team (as required from time to time) on a global basis
Work in coordination with a global analyst team
Maintain databases which track automotive technologies and supplier information
Nurturing a network of contacts at automotive companies
:Project work involvement, including cross:regional and cross:team projects as needed
Frequent client presentations and interactions on a global basis
:Proven understanding of OEM lightweighting strategies and material choices, in the context of wider automotive technology trends (e.g. downsizing, emission compliance)
:Proven understanding of materials mechanical properties and cost structure
:5+ years experience at automotive suppliers/OEMs with exposure to lightweighting themes or at a consultancy
:Fluency in English
:Proven connections/entry points in the automotive industry
:Good presentations skills and comfortable in client interactions
:Accurate Analytical and Data interpretation skills
:An interest/passion for cars is desirable
:Proficiency with MS applications required (Excel, Word and PowerPoint); understanding of database mechanics helpful (e.g. Access, SQL)
:Strong motivation and ability to self:organize to achieve difficult targets under tight time constraints
