Senior QRD \\(Quality Reliability Durability\\) Engineer is responsible for improving customer satisfaction by leading product resolution of warranty claims and other key customer satisfaction survey results\\. The possible areas of assignment include vehicle infotainment, telematics and other electrical systems\\. This position is considered a stepping stone to other significant roles within the GM Infotainment team such as Design Release Engineer \\(DRE\\), New Product Domain Lead, and others\\. Senior QRD Engineering candidates need to have a drive, hunger and willingness to learn\\. In this position, a motivated engineer will expand their knowledge of General Motors business, leading to future career growth\\.
Key responsibilities for the Senior QRD Engineer are listed below, but maybe expanded to support attainment of corporate goals:
The main task is of a Senior QRD Engineer is to understand the customer and how their new vehicle is or is not satisfying their expectations\\. This will be achieved by reviewing several sources of customer survey data \\(such as JD Power customer survey\\) and dealer warranty claim data\\. Using this information, recommendations will be formulated, priorities established and tasks given to the various engineering teams to drive changes that will increase customer satisfaction and corporate profitability\\.
The selected Senior QRD Engineer will coordinate and lead discussions with various issue owners who have the ability to drive the needed change\\.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
Bachelor of Science in Engineering \\(Electrical, mechanical or computer engineering preferred\\.\\)
Excellent communication skills, an undying desire to learn, and driven to achieve goals\\.
Must be able to lead a small teams of engineers \\(3 to 6\\) who will be mining for issues that are the most significant to GM s business success within the Infotainment organization\\.
Must have strong critical thinking and problem solving skills\\. Candidates must be able to synthase several sources of data to find emerging issues, new opportunities to improve customer satisfaction \\(Red X, DFSS, 6 Sigma certifications would be beneficial, but not required\\)\\.
Should be able to manipulate data to find opportunities i\\.e\\. Big Data\\.
**Preferred Skills and Qualifications**
Prefer skills in Excel \\(pivot tables\\), Tableau, Power BI, etc\\. will be of benefit to extracting the right data to find customer issues\\.
**Travel**
Travel may be required to suppliers, assembly plants and is estimated to not exceed 10% of total time\\.
